This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history.
I've learned through doing some research that there are people in different parts of the USA and over seas with the same last name of Mengersen. I am sure that some of them might be from a different lineage or may be such a distant relative that they may never be known or contacted. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.I have always been interested in my Heritage and I love visiting my relatives. In 1986 I traveled to Germany to make the 1st contact with my relatives overseas in nearly 20 years. The trip was a great success for me and I would like to think that it helped to spur on many visits from the German relatives coming to America and many visits from some of the American relatives including my parents, Ronald and Nancy Mengersen to Germany. The only regret that I have is that I haven't yet been able to return to the great country of Germany.
While I was over in Germany staying with the relatives I was able to obtain information about there part of the family tree but I am sure that some more relatives may have been born and others may have been married into the family. I also was able to obtain some information from relatives here in America and from searching extensively on the internet. In the course of doing all of this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought.
